transfer multiple files accross network

I need to create a server function that, once called, will
return multiple files in a folder (files are in different
types, like dll, xml, txt, etc.). If this is just a sigle
file transfer, I will use FileSteam's OpenRead and return
a Byte array to the caller. But in my case I need to
transfer multiple files and I don't want to call the
function mutiple times in a loop.

What is the best way of doing this?
