vb6 put,get for binary files in .Net

Hello,
In VB6 there was Put and Get to write and read chunks of data from a file
in binary mode.
What is the way to do this in VB.net?

thanks,

'Put' -> 'FilePut', 'Get' -> 'FileGet'. Some other file access functions
known from VB6 have been prefixed with 'File' too in order to reduce
ambiguity.
