My guess is September 05 because the PDC event will be held in September.

Bernie,
In addition to the other comments.

The December CTP (Community Technology Preview) of VS.NET Beta 1 was
recently published, which means that Beta 2 is not yet ready.

After Beta 2 there will probably be one or 2 Release Candidates.

Which suggests to me not until sometime in the second half of 2005 (such as
the September PDC)...

For details on VS.NET 2005 see:

Hope this helps
Jay

Jan. 5, 2005

I read an article a few days ago at WatchingMicrosoftLikeAHawk.com
or Microsoft-Watch.com that VS.NET 2005 would be released no later than the
first half of this year. Can't wait for it to come!
