Making "Hot Spots" from Buttons!

I stumbled across a way to make buttons transparent.
Which means its possible to use a button to be a "hot
spot" (if a square hot spot is what you need)

I found the answer waiting in a very obvious place. To
make your button transparent just set it's BackColor to
Web -> Transparent.

If it were a snake it would have bit me.

Well there is a small outline of a button but not bad for
10 minutes work for a "Hot Spot" that has the benefits of
choice of hover cursor, tooltip message and accessibility
support.

So now I display a world map as my Form1 BackgroundImage
and when I roll the cursor over Africa... the tool tip
says "Africa" the cursor changes to a hand with pointing
finger. Click and up comes my selection.

Thanks Herfried and Larry for your suggestions on how to
create a "Hot Spot". They each have additional merits
that I may need in the future.
