Close the Visual Studio if it's open.
In the registry browse to this location using RegEdit.exe:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio \7.1\ProjectMRUList"
and delete the value that points to your project on the right panel (make
sure to backup the key before you make any changes).
Also after you delete, for example "File 4", rename the last value in the
list, for example "File 15" to the name that you deleted (File 15 --> File
4)
And restart Visual Studio.
