Booster,

When you are talking about Interenet, you cannot connect direct, however
when there is the posibility of aspnet on the server where is the database,
you can maybe use webservices.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...alkthrough.asp

When it is about a normal internet you can just tell where the database is.

I hope this helps?

microsoft.public.de.german.entwickler.dotnet.vb is a German newsgroup.
Please post to relevant groups only.

Herfried,
microsoft.public.de.german.entwickler.dotnet.v b is a German newsgroup.

He crossposted that to that newsgroup. Or is it not allowed to post there in
English, I personally am granted (I thought from a very active MVP in that
newsgroup) that I may do that. (And expect than an answer in the German
language of course)

Beside that your answer is in English, so you cannot have answered from that
newsgroup.

I find it quiet a relevant crosspost, maybe I had added as well in his case
microsoft.public.dotnet.adonet

I had not added the access newsgroups, however that is only because I do not
know what is normal in those newsgroups and maybe Marc is a Regular to those
groups.

There are separate English language groups, and the "de" in the name of
the microsoft.public.de.german.entwickler.dotnet.vb tells the user that
this is a dedicated German language group.

Just my 2 Euro cents.

Da der OP wahrscheinlich nicht Deutsch spricht, habe ich mir gedacht,
dass es besser ist, wenn ich auf Englisch antworte.

Man könnte aber multilingual antworten, also bspw. auf Deutsch und auf
Englisch. Oder gebietsschemaabhängig, bei Dir also "Österreichisch". ;=)
