calling system wizards

Hi i m developing an application for security systems where i m going to use
a webcam to take sanps and store them at a specified location, obviously with
a meaningful name. I would like to control the webcam from my vb.net
application to take a picture etc.. I know it can be done through an
appropraite dll file from the manufacturer to work with that webcam. I dont
want to go that route becuase as hardware changes, the dll will have to be
replaced. instead i want to call windows camera and scanner wizard or
dialouge from my application to acaiehve what i want because if personaly
feel that calling that wizard will automatically integegrate regardless the
hardware as windows takes care of that. However, i have not a got a clue how
to do that. Would some one help me with this? I would also like to access
uniqe systems processor's serial number? is it possible. An answer by
e-mail would be highly appreated at mian?clipfine.com or mg****@hotmail.com.
Thank you in advance.
