Error Handling the Loading of Dynamic Link Libraries ...

Dear All,
Is it possible to perform the following with dynamic link libraries with
Visual Basic .NET:

1. Use a variable representing the location of the DLL. For example :
Declare Function XYZ Lib MYVAR (String) ...?
2. Use a try ...catch system for loading these libraries. For example,
if I have the wrong version of a DLL or the dll is not a dll, etc, can I
catch that error and handle it ....
3. Stop using a DLL by calling some sort of 'end' or 'close' function of
some sort ... (If this last part is possible, how do I do that?)

I am developing an app that uses a DLL that changes over time and I just
want to know if these things are possible. Thank you in advance!

Sincerely,
Christopher Koeber
