Have you been to www.planetsourcecode.com? www.gotdotnet.com?

Just to name a couple. While planetsourcecode has a lot of stuff, it is
from people like you and me, and may not be stellar examples of good
practices. Gotdotnet OTOH, should offer a little higher caliber if you find
something to help there....

www.codehound.com could also help locate stuff on the net.

Have fun!

There are a couple good books that explain concepts as applied to VB.NET and
DirectX 9 Managed.

I have on at home, the title escapes me, I'll write it in here when I get
home tonight.
