Deep copy of a Word document

I am running Office 2000, and would like to create a deep clone of a word
document object.
1. There is no clone function for the document class.
2. I can't get reflection to give me a list of fields. It always returns
0... maybe I'm doing something wrong:
dim fields() as reflections.fieldInfo = getType(Word.DocumentClass).GetFields
3. And I can't serialize the object to a memory stream. Why?
The type Word.DocumentClass in Assembly Interop.Word, Version=8.1.0.0 is not
marked as serializable.

Why do I want to do this? (In case I'm barking in the wrong forest.)
When you email a document the attachment name is the file name. In the DMS
the file names are ugly. I want the attachment name to be, more meaningful
and aesthetically pleasing.
Oh, and no I can't save the document, grab the file, and make a copy. Nor
can I use save-as to create a new document with the pretty file name.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll buy you a virtual lunch.
