Search for "Pitch to MIDI" and you'll find a number of products, such as the
Axon MIDI System (
http://www.edromanguitars.com/parts/axon.htm). These
devices translate sounds to MIDI format. You can extract the pitch values
from the MIDI file and then manipulate them however you like. Note that
accuracy suffers because of overtone interference and the non-human way that
such devices interpret "intermediate" pitches that don't exactly match a
standard pitch frequency. It's often very difficult to pick out the primary
pitch value accurately, particularly with generalized pitch recognition
devices, lower pitches and from sources that produce "rich" sounds with many
overtones. You should definitely test the accuracy of the device you select
with your particular input sources, if possible.

Is there any OCX component or function or source code that I can use to
convert sound into db or pitch? In another word, if I talk through
Microphone, it should tell me what my db or pitch is?
Thanks and Regards
