Working directly on the db?

Is it possible to work directly in the db and in realtiem change values in
the database when user types into a textfield in my program?

The reason why I ask is tha tmy customer ABSOLUTLEY wants that.. although
I'm telling him it's better to have a save button and save every now and
then... but he complains about that it could crash and then he loose all the
data. I want to tell him that he shoudl save more often.. but he's the one
paying to I need to check into what he wants.. so is it possibe, working
directly on the Access db?

I am not sure how to do that, but have you though of having a timer that
saves every so many minutes? Just an idea!
