printer status in vb.net

i am new to vb.net.i am having a problem.i am developing one application using vb.net .
i need to know the status of the printer before sending anything to the printer.
i don't want to print ,just i want to know the status .that is printer is available or not.
in my application i have one icon in the statusbar.i want to know the status when i click on the icon.
if anybody knows the solution for this please help me immediatly.
