ShfileOperation

I know that this is the API to use..is there a way to use it to delete an
entire directory instead of just a file?

ACK, 'SHFileOperation' is able to show a progress dialog during the
deleting process, line Windows explorer, but that's optional and maybe
not what the OP wants to do.

Start that AVI yourself at the begin and stop it at the end.
