Hi,
is there a version of Visual Sourcesafe that works with VB.Net ?
If so, where can I find it, because I only have the version for VB6.
Thanks | |

Hi,
Visual Safe Source version 6 is the current version. It works with
vs.net 2002 and vs.net 2003. A new version should be out with vs.net 2005.

Wasn't 6.0c (note the c rev) the version supported by VS.NET? Not sure if
there has been patches since.
We switched to SoureGear Vault and never looked back. (Their single-user
version is free)

Greg,
VSS 6.0d is the version that ships with VS.NET 2003. I don't remember if
6.0c or 6.0d shipped with 2002.
Hope this helps

I don't think VSS shipped with anything but Enterprise version. (I only have
Professional) Is that correct?

FWIW
Yes, it doesn't come with Pro. We had it from MSDN. http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/ho.../choosing.aspx

Greg,
I believe you are correct (I have MSDN universal) so I have Enterprise
Architect loaded.
Also its just been to long since I loaded it, I want to say it is an
separate install like Visio is an separate install.
Hope this helps

If the OP has it from VB6 (I think it was a separate purchase for that
also.) They should be licensed to run it with VS.NET.

I was also surprised to discover that it was shipped on the Microsoft Office
2000 Developer CD, which is where my copy comes from.

If I'm not mistaken, you muse have version 6.0d in order for it to
integrate properly with VS.Net

Although I now have V6.0d, I used V6.0c for some time, without problem,
integrated with VS.NET V2002 and V2003.
