Firebird embedded database .NET

I am trying to get the embedded Firebird database in my VB.NET app. I
already have the dll, but i can't get it running..

Has anyone an example for me ? This would help a lot. Can't find any on
internet.

Especially i am puzzling with the connection string and the dataAdaper, and
binding the lot to textfields and so on.

If someone can get me an working example, i would be delighted.

Are you using the latest beta driver?

I believe v1.5 doesn't support the embedded server.

Hi Herfried/Johan,

<news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.adonet>

Johan did already before you wrote this message, he multiposted, what we do
not like in the dotNet newsgroups.

When Johan had crossposted, we could have seen in this newsgroup that there
is already an answer in the adonet newsgroup.

Crossposting is sending one message in one time to more newsgroups.

When it is done not nice (sending to not related newsgroups) than you get
often only flaming answers.

I hope this helps?

Join the firebird mailing list - the ppl on there are very helpful. I got
the embedded server to work fine with .NET so it's definately possible.

I'll dig up my code if you absolutely need it : )

But still an example would be of great help, so if you can dig up your code,
it would save me a lot of time.....

But thanks anyway
