How to get unique id for a folder/file in the filesystem?

Hi.

I would like to get a unique id for a folder/file in the filesystem. Has
each folder and file got a kind of GUID I can get?

An ID that does not change even if the file or folder is moved.

Anyone has some code example in VB.NET ?

Thanks
