Auto Recognition

Hi, i'm trying to create a program that will give me suggestions on how
play cards ( the windows hearts game ), my idea is take a snapshot of the
screen , and try to read each card, number and suit, what will be the best
way to read each card or any suggestions about how to code it??

Thanks.
Alex.
