Current Most Common Screen Setting

Looking for professional information, (surveys, articles or just general
comments etc.) regrding the current most common screen setting among
endusers. (Ie: 800x600) or something else.

A subset of this will be the current most commonly used screen setting for
professional application development.

We ourselves still use 640x480 due to being stubborn, vision issues, and
ease of viewing the screen. However, I understand that this is not really
common anymore in the real world.

Unfortunately us certified old geezers don't have the vision of a 16 yearold
anymore.

It is certainly at least 800x600 but I think a lot of people use at least
1024x786, with big screens of course.

Regards

Thanks for the link.....

Additional comment....it would be nice to see these statistics regarding the
installed USA and then the global business setting.

Not everyone in the business setting will have internet access priviledges,
thus the grunt machines doing the serious work behind the front executive
and IT administrator offices may not be as endowed with all the latest
software updates like XP and IE6.
