Rich text

Can I open a rich text file into memory just as a text file? I don't want
to open it into the rtb itself. My goal is to open several files and search
each based on a keyword. If there is a match then I want to add that file
name to a tree control or a list box where the user can then select the
file.

Thanks for the information.

I can't tell you for sure whether or not there is a way to do it in memory
only. But if it comes down to it, you could use a RTB with it's visibility
set to FALSE. That way the user wouldn't see it.

I of course hope there IS a way of doing it WITHOUT such a need.

That is what I was thinking too - opening the rtf in an RTB set to
visible.false. There are a little over 300 of these files.
