Best vb.net book - Visual Basic .NET

Can someone recomend a beginner's vb.net book? (one that includes info on
ADO)
I have learned a little vb6 and some dao in a VBA enviroment, but I would
like to start vb.net from the begining and get a firm grounding.

Halverson's book is a good place to start.
It is, in effect, his VB book, with examples converted to .NET.

After reading that book, you'll want a book such as the Francesco Balena VB
..NET book, also from MSFT Press.
