Balancing price and content......pls. help

I'm new to programming and want to start with visual basic.net; So I'm looking for a book that'll get me started on programming and up n' running vb.net. Someone has referred "Balena's Visual Basic .NET Core Reference". Now this is a pretty complete but EXPENSIVE book

How about Sybex Visual Basic.NET Complete
i just like this because of the price. Is this similiar to Balena's Visual Basic .NET Core Reference

What books did u guys use?

All help appreciated

Thanx. Radit
