Move to a previous record while on a new record

When I am on a new record, I need to move to the previous record, but when I do so I get an error. How do I cancel the new record so I can go back. Below is code

Private Sub adoData_WillChangeRecord(ByVal adReason As ADODB.EventReasonEnum, ByVal cRecords As Long, adStatus As ADODB.EventStatusEnum, ByVal pRecordset As ADODB.Recordset
Dim pstrMsg As String, pblnError As Boolea

If adReason = adRsnAddNew Then Exit Su

If Not IsNumeric(txtThickness) The
pstrMsg = pstrMsg & "Decimal must be numeric." & Chr(13
pblnError = Tru
End I

If pblnError The
Call MsgBox(pstrMsg, vbOKOnly
adStatus = adStatusCance
End I

End Su

Private Sub cmdPrevious_Click(
adoData.Recordset.MovePreviou
End Sub
