Force close of open file

I have an app that is going to run overnight to create a Word template.
This will contain names and addresses from a central database stored as
AutoText entries. My plan is to map all users Word startup folders to the
folder where I'll drop that file so that the AutoText is accessible by
everyone.

But.... if any user leaves Word running then that file will still be in use
and when I attempt to update it the next night then it's going to fail.
Does anyone have a way of forcing any current connections to that file to be
shut down (bearing in mind that the actual process that has the file open is
on the users machine)?
