Search for Images in Word using VS Tools for Office Systems

I have been reading through all the MSDN docs on using the new Visual Studio
Tools for Microsoft Office Systems and have alot of things working in my
project. One thing I am stuggling with is how to identify if a Word Document
has images in it. Where they are would be nice too but I'll settle for a
boolean answer.

I've tried the approach of reading the document into an XMLDocument (or
XMLDataDocument) because I can see that the images are preceeded by a
<w:pict> tag. That approach may be on the right track but I get various
errors (eg. Invalid Cast) when I try that. I think its because there is a
bunch of binary data in the XML representation of the Word (2003) document
representing the image itself.

The other approach was to look for a property subordinate to ThisDocument
(eg. ThisDocument.Range().Characters.Item(x).???) where I could identify the
image.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
