I got a job...

I received a job offer today... It means moving 150 miles away, and
making a 20% less money than I was making at my previous job. But It's
more than un-employment :)

I would like to take a moment to thank all the people that emailed me
with job leads and info. It really mean't alot to me.

Things I've learned about this..

1. When I was at my previous job, everyone wanted to be my friend. When
the job went away, the friends went away.

2. I go to church with a guy that is CIO of retail solutions business in
Little Rock. I couldn't get anything, not even contract work. But
certain higher ups in the church, had no problems getting their kin to
work there.

I'm trying not to be bitter. Maybe it just hurt my feelings and angered
me, that I received more assistance from total strangers than the people
that supposely are good church people or friends. I guess I was in the
wrong click, or they didn't like my looks <grin>

Life lesson learned here. Forgive them, we're all human, and go on.

Thank you all, again, for your help.

Great News Terry!! I understand your feelings. I have been looking for
work for over a year.

James, email me... like where are you located, your background, an
resume if you have one?

If your too far away from me, I don't know that I can do anything. But
let's see where you at first.

Congrats! And please pray for me too. I hate my current job. Although its my
lovely .net development but people here are not excited about anything new
in .net. I wish I get a job in some company where work is much more
challenging.

Abubakar, I understand perfectly.

Some of us, are passionate about what we do and the technology we work
with. To others, it just a job and a way to bring home a paycheck.

Sad thing about it, it seems like it's the others that are getting the
high dollar jobs and promotions.

Can you explain why ? <laugh>
