Access information on Microsoft Exchange

Is there a way to access messages or information pertaining to emails on
Microsoft Exchange?

I am interested in writing an application in VB.net that searches email
content and also keeps email statistics (how many messages sent or received
per day etc),

Hi Kevin,

Exchange has a logging system for that, I think you only have to take those
files daily, read them and process them.

I hope this helps?
