Hi Silvia,

Did you already look in this, there are samples there

http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/default.aspx

And if you have problems installing it

http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbr...q/#installvdir
I hope this helps a little bit?

Hi Silvia

You could also look here:

http://www.codeworks.it/net/VBNetRs232.htm

This is probably the best example of programming serial comms in VB.NET that
I have come across so far.

Hi Charles,

Welcome back.

There are not so much webbrowser questions anymore, but I did learn although
that terrible casting with that thing.

(I saw you active in some other groups already)

:-)

Hi Cor

Yes, I have had a break for a few months; work and exam commitments.

I'm not sure what you mean by
but I did learn although that terrible casting with that thing.
I have noticed a drop off in the WebBrowser questions. I'm not sure what
people are using now; I doubt they have given up.

Anyway, it is good to be back. I haven't seen any recent posts from Fergus
or Nick. Any news?

Regards

Charles

Hi Charles,

From Nick I understand he had other occupations than programming.

Fergus I do not know, I got a message from him by mail that he had messed up
his computer, I did answer that and than all became quiet.

(Fergus and Herfried had a big fight here and Fergus told me he did not know
if he would go on with the newsgroups. It was of course again a silly fight
about in my eyes something absolute unimportant, but they went both very far
giving each other nicknames and things like that. You understand, when it
becomes to that Fergus is the better one. All was it only because Herfried
is not a native English speaker).

It can be one of the reasons he stopped, but I think not the only one,
otherwise he had surely given a message here about that I think.

I am very curious also what is with Fergus.

Cor

PS.
The casting, I have in a program where I use the webbrowser and very
intensive mshtml set Option Strict On completly, for that you have to do a
lot of casting (and to search for the right ones while it is terrible slow
doing that)

Hi Herfried,

Stop. I /never/ gave a nickname.

I can remember me something as "spammer"

I did not check it, but I am quiet sure, I did not know if I had to tell
this, however because Charles is a member of this newsgroup community I
thought it was right,

And things are easily to check on Google, but that is not worth it, I cannot
forget it, and I was not happy than when 2 normaly so pleasant people having
a fight about nothing.

But as I said when there was that trouble, try to forget it but the scars
will stay.

I have tried to write it in the nicest way for everybody, withouth changing
what is in my eyes the truth about this. And not blamming anybody.

Hi Cor

Thanks for the update.

I know what you mean about all the casting. It gets very tiresome. I no
longer include an Imports MSHTML statement to try to make typing a bit
quicker, but the casting problem does not go away.

Heigh-ho!

Cheers

It was not a nickname, it was a description.

I still get spam because of the faked posts...

I remember me that Fergus was trying to give Nicknames in the German
languages, was really funny because it where really the wrong words, but I
would not give a reaction in that time, had only be oil on the fire.

:-))
