How to tell if you are connected to WLAN

Pocket FrameWork
VS2003 - VB

Is there an easy way to tell if you are in range of the WLan, and thus
connected? I would like to know this before I try to send information over
the network.

Thanks
Steven

Might want to try the
microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.compactframework to see if one of
the CE gurus there might know the answer.
