attach to open Office app

I am trying to trap when a user opens Excel/Word, and
attach to the events of that process.

I can use the Process class to get all processes, but I
can't see a link to an object that can trap events, like
GetObject. In Vb.Net, GetObject requires a class
reference (what if there are two instances open?) or a
filename (how to get the filename?)

My alternative is to use the API to enumerate open
process types, but I can't see how this gets me to an
object with events, either.

TIA
