I have been using "visual basic.NET step by step" from Microsoft press
and although I have some programming knowledge I consider myself a
beginner and the book is excellent, it very quickly gets you up and
running and is easy to follow.

I would recommend that you put some focus behind what you are doing and
train for the exams. This is a very clear way of cutting through the
nebulous stuff and learning the core requirements.

Microsoft .NET Core requirements. ~ £123, comes with 60 Day Trial Software,
Exam Vouchers and 500 Test .Questions
