get Streamreader content before page is loaded

Hello,

I am developping an application that needs to launch several asp scripts at
the same time, to I have created threads which use one streamreader each.
This works fine, except that I need to be able to view the page while it is
still loading. In this case I can't use readtoend method, can I ?
Since the asp scripts output might be one letter per second or less, it
doesn't seem to work with "readblock" either.
Any suggestion pls ?

To make it more clear, (it is not at all for me, but maybe that is because
my knowledge).

An classic asp application has as start mostly a user, what starts your
process and from where are you loading it (reading it) ?

It sounds for me a little bit as classic asp using a database to save the
scripts, but then IIS needs the whole script before it can start processing
it I thought.

Hmm, sorry, let me try to give more details.
Actually I have about 100 asp scripts (web page) that do some processing,
and output debug information while they run.
So when you launch them in a web browser, you can see what they have
already done and what's left.
Now I want my VB.NET application to run several of them at the same time.
This works fine with multi threads and a streamreader via "readtoend"
method, however this way I can't see the progression for the scripts.
So I'd like to read block by block, or any other method that would allow me
to see what a script is doing "live".

In my opinion if the streamreader don't give you the posibility to do
something record by record, than there is no other way. Probably your asp
script is just one textfile, so it will be read in one time.

Your problem is very specific.
So I doubt it that you get an answer that fits your problem here, but maybe
it is something for the
microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.aspnet group.

On the other hand it is also something maybe for the
microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.adonet group

I think that you have in those newsgroups a better change than here.

What I'd actually like to kno if whether there is another component better
fitted for this.
even if it were a simple but slow web page the problem would be the same :
how to get it little by little so I can see what's happening.
(without any link to a database or asp.net)

Hi Shad,

Maybe I did misunderstood it

When it just are webpages, than you can look what mshtml can do for you.
That you can read and use in the same way as javascript.
It covers the DOM.

You have to set a reference for that to Microsoft.mshtml in the normal Net
reference.

Do not set an import because than your IDE becomes slower than you ever saw.

You have everytime to reference it as by instance mshtml.document.all.tags

It is terrible if you want to avoid late bindings because than you have to
cast almost everything, but you can have a look for it.
