ServiceController STATUS method

dan
Platform XP. Language VB.NET 2003
We have developed a ServiceController SC1 which controls the service S1.
Starting and stopping S1 from SC1 works fine.
We have a problem with the STATUS method:
When SC1 starts it display the correct status of S1 i.e. "running" or
"stopped" (using SC1.status).
However afterwards the changes in the actual status of S1 are not reflected
in SC1.status, which remains unchanged. Only by stopping and restarting the
controller it reflects again the actual status of the service S1.
Who could help?

Thanks
Dan
