You can use VB.Net (or C# for that matter) to automate a Microsoft Office
application, like Word, Excel or Access, just as you could with VB6.
There are lots of resources on MSDN; here are some starting points:

However, if you just want to send emails to addresses in an Access database,
it would probably be easier to do that directly in VB.Net. Just reference
the Access database using ADO.Net, and then send the emails using the
SmptMail class. No need to mess around with Office automation.

I was just asked if I could replicate a piece of
functionality (having a VB program send an email) using
the VBA in Access 2000. I figure there's probably a VBA
way to do it, but I was also wondering if VBA can access
the .NET framework?
