application configuration file?

i add values to this file but i don't know how to get them in application..
do i have explicitly to load and read the file using xml reader..or
whatever?
does any one have a sample?

myString = appSettings.getValue("myKey", gettype(System.String))
Or Dyanmic properties on your properties bar...

In addition to the other reply: The config-file should not be used to
store user preferences.

You can use libraries like this

<http://www.palmbytes.de/content/dotnetlibs/optionslib.htm> (C#)

to store/load user preferences.
