Crystal Report with SubReport, SubReport prints on separate page

I have created a Crystal Report with five subreports to represent
datagrids on our dataentry application. The largest datagrid is the
last item on the report. When empty this last subreport will print on
page one of the report about halfway down the page.

The problem is when this subreport has more than 50 rows it grows off
the page. Not a problem as it will print all the pages necessary for
this subreport but it starts the report on page two rather than page
one leaving about half of page one blank.

I have just created this report today and all of the report options
are still default as I am not sure which option would resolve this
issue. Each sub report is in a separate section with this last
subreport being in the 'Details e' section. There is no 'Details f'
section.

Does anyone have an idea on what I can do?

Hi Tim,

I have run into the same problem. Here are a few suggestions:
1. go to section expert and make sure all of the sections have 'suppress
blank' section checked
2. make sure all sections do not have 'new page after' (except the last, if
appropriate)
3. make sure the section in question does not have 'new page before'
4. lastly, you may have to contact Crystal Decisions about it - my guess is
that version 9 is a bit buggy in some areas, especially this area (I assume
you're using version 9)

My guess is all of this is ok, as it was with my system. I ended up having
to tweak the thing in several ways before I could get it to behave - and
even then, when my 'large' section gets too large, I have a problem still.

HTH,

Bernie Yaeger
