mdac version ?

hi,

i need to distribute mdac 2.6 or later with an app.

does mdac_type.exe that comes in the 'prerequisites' cd of .net 2003, match
that?

when right click that mdac_type.exe and look under properties/version i see
file version as 27.1.9030.9., but there is no info
about the mdac version.

is this file the one i need?

can i assume that if someone has an later version of mdac, it won't be
overwritten by an earlier one?

thanks

ray

please repond to the list
