Visual basic.net Standard 2003 update failure

I've just installed VB.net Std 2003, and when I went to
grab the latest updates, I get the following message:

"Visual Studio.NET 2003 setup encountered errors while
attempting to download required files. Check your Web
browser configuration settings and your
connection hardware, and then try again."

I'm running XP Home Edition, Black Ice firewall, and
McAfee Antivirus. All products are current regarding
updates.

Can anybody help me with this update failure?

Thanks
Randy

Deactivate firewall/antivirus temporarily and try again.

I have the same problem. You can select [Check For Updates] from the [Help]
menu in the IDE. I find this fails but then succeeds when I click on Retry
(at least I get a message box telling me that there are no new updates so I
assume it's working).

Hi Herfried,
I tried it, but it says, "No updates and then a kind of visite a site or
something"

Are you sure this is a usefull button or just a commercial trick?

:-)))))))))))))))))

Hi Randy

Don't take to much effort in it, this button has never supplied 1 update I
don't know if it did something in the beta, but it does also nothing in
Visual.Studio. 2002 as far as I know till now.
