cannot add remote Web Service

Hi guys,
i'm new to web services and have the following problem:
Hope anyone could help me .. pleeease

I have a web service running on a remote computer.
I can access this web service from any computer, using the service's
IP.
However, if I try to add this web service to a webform wihtin VS .NET
(using ip, not localhost) I get asked for my user details (web service
is running under iis - windows authentication) . no matter what i type
in, it refuses me, to add the service to my project.
could anyone tell me, what I'm doing wrong?

I'm gradually getting mad.....
thanks in advance

tiana
