Using a layer mask

Hello there

I did a thing in photoshop and I want to implement that with VB.
I have a layer mask... grayscale
I need to know how can I crop a part of a bitmap accordingly to the layer
mask, so only the white part of the mask to be visible and the greys to make
a percent of transparency...
