Servers having problems?

I know this is probably not the group for this, but i know that these groups are fairly active,
and that the people are usually willing to help.

Is anyone else experiencing this? The news server is responding VERY SLOW for me. it takes about
10 minutes to download 150 text messages.

All other news servers are working fine for me, its only the microsoft news server.

here is my tracert.

The Microsoft public news server has been attacked by a worm (or virus?)
which is inundating the server with large numbers of copies of itself. The
problem is being worked on.

Hi Rick,
I don't know how to say it good, but this newsgroup loves this although it
is a mile of topic, this is eaten.
(Yes the problem is known, look at the long threads in this newsgroup and
you have them)
We think that only at Microsoft they don't know it, it's about 2 weeks now
and till now there is not one reaction from that side
:-(

Rick-

Yes, I've noticed a problem as well. Many posts are cancelled before I get a
chance to look at them. I'm talking about legit posts, not the "Update from
MS" SWEN garbage.

The Microsoft server has problems at the moment. I am using a different
news server to get the messages.

Microsoft is aware of the problem. Folks there have been working on it since
it started happening.

When downloading the posts, some of them disappear and I must reset the
group in OE.
