Maintaining Record Position in DataGrid/DataTable After "Refresh"

AFTER A "REFRESH", HOW DO I RETURN THE USER TO THE RECORD HE WAS
PREVIOUSLY WORKING WITH?

I have a DataTable, and a bound DataGrid. The DataTable contains a
column which is Unique, but the DataTable is not sorted on that
column. It may or may not be sorted at all. The user is working with
a particular record. After the user makes changes to the record, and
executes a SAVE operation, I want to "refresh" the DataTable/DataGrid,
because I want to display any new records which other users might have
recently created. I do the "refresh" by clearing, and then re-filling
the table. This causes the grid to move to the top/first record. How
do I go back to the old record??? I don't understand why this is so
difficult. Can someone please provide a full example? My eternal
thanks!
