unbound checkbox in datagrid?

Hello -

Ive got a READ ONLY Datagrid with records of people (2 columns,
FirstName and LastName).

I would like the first column to be a checkbox that allows the user to
select a row and then do various tasks.

How do I add this checkbox column to the datagrid, if it is not bound
to a column in the dataset? I have been able to do it by altering my
SQL statement to include a boolean field:

SELECT false AS [Selected], first_name AS [First Name], last_name AS
[Last Name}
FROM tblPerson;

This works, but since I would like the grid to be read only, the user
cannot check or uncheck the checkboxes.

Please help!

Thanks,
Brian
