P: n/a
What do I need in order to run VB.net and ASP.net? Is it possible at all to
create ASP.net pages on a XP home machine? Or do I need to upgrade to a
different machine?

Can I do this if I upgrade to XP Prof.?

You won't be able to with VS.NET, but you should check out ASP.NET Web
Matrix. You can get it for free from www.asp.net. It is a ASP.NET
authoring tool free from MS and it includes it's own ASP.NET capable
webserver (casini - which you can also get the source code for).

ASP.NET requires IIS, IIS doesn't run on Windows XP Home. Maybe you can use
Cassini[1] with XP Home.

Yes.
