Encode a string using Base64

Hello friends

I'm creating one application that will send content to another app using
HTTP connection. To authenticate my connection, I need to send a string with
the username and password encoded using Base64.

Dim username as String
Dim pass as String
Dim info_user as String
info_user = username + ":" + pass

and I need to encode info_user String using Base64. Can anyone help me how
can I do this, because I'm not sure how to do this.

Thanks for Help

You can use 'Convert.ToBase 64String' to get a Base64-string.

I seem to be having a problem base64 encoding characters above 127. I can encode a sentence like "The big bad dog" without problems, but if I try to encode something like 0xFF I get different results than in Perl. For example I am using: byte binaryArray = System.Text.ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetBytes(binaryString); string pushString = System.Convert.ToBase64String(binaryArray);

I want to mime encode a string. I think that mime is base64 coding (is this true?). I created the following code: Dim oEncoder As New System.Text.ASCIIEncoding Dim Str As String = "SYSTEM" Dim bytes As Byte() = oEncoder.GetBytes(Str) Convert.ToBase64String(bytes, 0, bytes.Length) MsgBox(Encoding.ASCII.GetString(bytes)

I've got a case where I want to convert binary blocks of data (various ctypes objects) to base64 strings. The conversion calls in the base64 module expect strings as input, so right now I'm converting the binary blocks to strings first, then converting the resulting string to base64. This seems highly inefficient and I'd like to just go straight from binary to a base64 string. Here is the conversion we're using from object to...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
