.Net 1.1 Framework development under VB Express 2005 beta

How can I develop 1.1 apps under VB Express 2005 beta?
And if not, why?

Because the underlying .Net Framework versions are different. VB Express
2005 is designed to use .Net Framework 2.0. To use Framework 1.1 you'll need
to use VB 2003.

If I download the 2005 beta express versions and install them, will the .NET framework 2.0 (beta) replace the existing 1.1 (non-beta) that's on my machine? What I mean is will I have two versions side by side - i.e. is the beta marked as 'this version is not allowed to replace an existing one' but a non-beta isn't marked with that, is what I'm...

I'm guessing that the release version of framework 2.0 isn't compatible with VS2005b2. After installing it, VS crashes upon launch and my applications compiled under the beta version of the framework crash on certain situations.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not.
