Automated Regression Testing Tools

Can anyone suggest automated regression testing tools they use for the .Net
apps? We would like to begin nightly automated testing of our apps. If it
matters, we use Infragistics for our presentation layer.

Thanks very much.

Yesterday there was an article on Slashdot: http://books.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/09/04/1415210&mode=flat&tid=108&tid=126&tid=156 It is about automatic code generation. I got interrested in the subject, did a web search, and it seems kind of powerfull. My main interrest is web development in Zope/CMF/Plone, where there is a lot of repeated code in the products. So automated code generation seems

Hello, Our QA team have running a lot of test scripts (for automated regression testing), they run them on the different databases (Oracle/MS SQL). Several of those tests are dependent on the current date/time. In order to be able to use them efficiently, we changed the current date/time on the QA database server to a specific date/time before starting the scripts, so we are sure the test scripts always run in the same environment.

I am looking for tool to validate conformity to defined coding standard. I have already found Parasoft's C++ Test, but it is quite expensive. Is there any Open Source alternative? I do not need GUI, fancy reports nor predefined sets of rules.

Does anyone have recomendations for good automated software testing tools? The need would mainly be for regression testing. It would be used by non-developers though the scripts could be written by developers if need be. Thank you, Susan

I am trying to automate the regression function in the analysis tool pack. I tried to simply record myself doing a regression. When I run the macro, it cannot find the analysis tool pack. It says ATPVBAEN.XLA could not be found. ATPVBAEN.XLA is the filename that excel recorded when I ran a regression using the analysis tool pack. Has anyone had this problem?

I am looking at continous integration for automatic builds, unit testing etc. Is there anything to automate security testing for SQL injection, XSS? Preferably something cheap - some of the enterprise stuff is way out my price range. To be honest I'm a little unsure how to even begin automating testing so any general advice on how to approach the problem would be great. Regards, Chris.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
