Converting a VBScript application to VB.NET

Does anyone know of any software out there that would convert an application
written in VBScript to either VB.NET or C#/C++ quite quickly for me, or will
I have to re-write the application myself.

Any help much appreciated.

When it is windowsform than that will be rewriting. You can use code by
pasting and cuting, however than you will have to write and add a lot. When
it is ASPX, than you can use a lot of the ASP VBScript to start and do it
piece by piece.

I hope this helps?

Converting the code to VB6 would be possible with very small changes.
Converting the code to VB.NET would require more changes.
Converting the code to C# would need some additional changes.
Converting the code to C++ would mean that you have to rewrite everything.

Since you have VBScript try to concentrate on VB.NET. If C# and C++ I think
is good look for you to redesign before write them. Visit this site to get
the correct pattern:

Okay, a rather 'interesting' situation has arisen at a place I work: I need to convert a database from Access to something that can be used over the web. I am currently maintaining and developing a mid-sized Access database (60 tables, 25 simultaneous users). Although I've been tossing up if I should try to convert the back end to SQL server (We have a license), the performance has been good enough that it always seemed a waste of time,...

Hi, Im considering converting a legacy application from asp to aspx (vb) - just for the purpose of learning (Im new at .net, but experienced at vbscript) What I need to get my head around, is page security. Currently this app has a database login which sets session values for username etc Pages within this web are then protected by the usual "If session("loggedin") = true then..." kind of code.

We have an Outlook 2000 VBA application - 8 user forms, and about a thousand lines of code - that we wish to distribute. We know that we can password-protect the code, but that does not give us the desired level of security We plan to use VB.NET to create an executable file which we will distribute to our users. We have tested this, and it works. However, I've seen some references on various newsgroups indicating that this will not work,...

Hello all, I've been working on an application for a while now and have now come to a standstill. I have an application that I intend to have stored on a file server (developed in C#), which is where the application will be directly ran from. While running, the application will run a various assortment of VBScripts (also located on the file server) to which I would like the vbscripts to be able to pass data back to the currently...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
