In my opinion is the information you ask for, because of the art of dotNet
never good. When it is to low, than it means that your dotNet application is
not functioning well, what is the same when it is to high.

Just my thought,

When I have time, I am planning to evaluate Python for console game development (on Playstation 2, GameCube, and Xbox). Does anyone have any experience with this? Pretty much the only resource I have found, and the only thing that makes me think it might be possible is this: http://asbahr.com/python.html I would be interested to hear anybody's experience with Python on consoles.

Hi all: When I run my code, I find that the memory that the code uses keeps increasing. I have a PC with 2G RAM running Debian linux. The code consumes 1.5G memory by the time it finishes execution. But I do not think it needs so much memory. About 500M memory should be enough. I have following questions about memory leak. (1).If in my code I only define constructor for my class, and do not define destructor, will it cause memory leak?

Cross posting this question on the recommendation of an I have a .NET application that I am developing in C# I am loading information in from a dataset, and then pushing the dataset to a grid, or other controls depending on the particular form. This application is setup with one MDI parent calling MDI children with the exception of one Modal form (the report viewer). When I run the application and run one of the screens that pulls...

Can somebody help me please? I've spent a fruitless hour googling with no luck. I'm discussing memory allocation techniques with somebody, and I'm trying to find a quote from -- I think -- Tim Peters where he discusses the way Python allocates memory when you append to lists. In basic terms, he says that every time you try to append to a list that is already full, Python doubles the size of the list. This wastes no more than 50% of the...

Hi all, I'm searching a PORTABLE way to get the available and total physical memory. Something like "getTotalMemory" and it returns the memory installed on my PC in bytes, and "getAvailableMemory" and it returns the available memory in bytes. Do you know is there's a C function, a c++ Object or anything else that compiles in Linux and Windows to get these data?

We have a large Asp.net application that is currently crashing our production servers. What we are seeing is the aspnet_wp eat up a bunch of memory and then stop unexpectedly. Does not recycle. Example: After about 5 hours with a concurrent user base of about 150 users the application raises the aspnet_wp memory usage by almost 500MB. If our server guys modify the web.config this data is released and the workerprocess goes back to a...

Greetings, We make an ASP.NET web application and we host it for our customers. We have provisioned hardware and hope to be able to service around 200 customers on this hardware. The web servers are in a stateless farm and have 2 GB of RAM. We are using ASP.NET 1.1 when using a dedicated application pool for each virtual directory. Each customer gets their own virtual directory and copy of the ASP.NET dll in their bin folder, which...

I'm using PHP to run a CLI application. It's a script run by cron that parses some HTML files (with DOM XML), and I ended up using PHP to integrate with the rest of the code that already runs the website. The problem is: it's eating more memory than a black hole. It eats the current limit of 256MB set in php.ini, in an application that would hardly consume 4MB if written in C. I don't care if this application takes much longer to run...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
