ip address configuration

hello,
I want to let server read the ip address of the client from the configuration file in the client-server model.
how i can do it?

i am programmer under linux.....

I don't think I understand your question - can you expand on what you're trying to do, how you're trying to do it, and why?

Can you add the client in the server's /etc/hosts file?
